I was sitting in my office today and heard footsteps on my roof. Looked, and to to my surprise saw a young male running from my roof onto my neighbor's carport roof and jumped over the wall. I realized that he was up to no good and decided to give chase.

As I entered our street I saw that another civilian was wrestling with him and I went to help. It came to our notice that this young male attempted to enter another house illegally. The SAPS was called and he was arrested and taken away.

My neighbor came home tonight and we found that approx. R 20 000 damages was caused to his carport.

We have now established that this suspect was released by the police and also found that there is no entry in any of the SAP registers about the incident.

How pathetic.
